Very nice bell, but doesn't last long

I love the bell itself. Nice and loud. Small and simple. Fits right next to my brake for quick dinging on Manhattan streets. However, i'm on my third bell. The plastic part that springs back to ring the bell is fragile (because it plastic, duh!) and soon breaks off. Mine have each lasted only about 4 or 5 months. There's no way I can find to re-attach it, or to outfit it with something else, and there's no replacement part sold, so you're left with a bell that is perfectly good but for the fact that there is no way to make it ring. There's nothing to do with it but pitch it in the trash. Too bad.

This bell lasted barely two months; the cheap plastic dinger broke off. Great sound and compact design, but very poor construction. Avoid!

Easy to install, pleasant-sounding, clear ring that is sufficiently loud. Small and unintrusive. Will probably last the lifetime of my mountain bike.
