4Fun Durable Truck but Eats Lots of Batteries
By Tom F
I bought this for my 11 year old son, who has been a fan of Monster Trucks for some time. He lives on a ranch property with a gravel road and lots of rough terrain, so I knew a regular remote control vehicle would not work, that he would need something rugged. I'm pleased that he has very much enjoyed playing with it, and it has proven to be fairly durable. It does climb over rocks and dirt with no problems. The controls work pretty well; he even incorporates it into his playing with army men formations as a "tank"! I would have given it five stars, except for the battery issue. This thing really sucks up the battery juice! If you get this, be sure to also get some rechargable batteries, too. :)

5Rock Crawler
By WB Mom
Easy to drive, climbs well, sturdy, and long lasting battery life. We did buy rechargeable batteries as it does call for 6 plus 1 for the remote. We ordered 2 vehicles. I was disappointed with the fact that we ordered 2 different colors, yet Amazon sent us 2 of the same color. We have added details to distinguish one from the other, but it would have been preferred to have been contacted regarding this change. Nine year old son is thrilled with them.

4Fun? Yes! Drain on batteries? YES!
By M. LeTourneux
First of all, this crawler is amazing. It can and will go over nearly anything that is about 4 inches or less in height. Pretty amazing toy to have around on a farm where other R/C cars would simply not be able to go. Growing up, I had a Tyco Eliminator which was, for all intents and purposes, far greater than even this, but since the quality of toys seems to have greatly diminished, this is a fun alternative. The positive points are simply how incredibly this truck will climb over nearly anything within its size range. It isn't overly fast, but it more than makes up for this in being able to go nearly anywhere. The most negative thing I can conjure up for this vehicle is how short the battery life is. I use rechargeable batteries, the majority of which are some 2500 mAh Energizer AAs. On this note, I also have some Duracell which, in addition to claiming 2650 mAh, they pack a punch much longer than the Energizers do. However, either route you go, this truck drains the six AAs it requires pretty quickly. With the rechargeables I use, within 3-5 minutes the steering is the first to go out, making it unable to make as tight of turns as compared to fresh batteries. And while it will still climb over nearly anything, if you can't aim where you intend on it going it severely erodes the quality of the experience.Overall, it's a great toy - just be sure to have a lot of batteries on hand though. And unless you have money to spare on new, single-use batteries, I'd highly recommend having some quality rechargeables and a quality charger.Edited because it wouldn't let me link my charger. What I use is one of the fancy-schmancy 4 slot LaCrosse technology ones.
